Credit union regulator sets report on savings insurance fund, with or without chairman’s attendance

A quarterly report on the federal insurance program for savings at credit unions is the only item appearing on the May meeting of the credit union regulator’s board, the agency said late Thursday.

The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Board said it will meet Wednesday (May 22) at agency headquarters in Alexandria, Va.

NCUA Board Chairman Todd Harper, in a release last week, said that he will be taking time off to undergo and recover from back surgery. He said “I expect to return to my full duties in July” in the statement.

However, he said nothing about his attendance at the May 22 meeting, or a meeting scheduled for June 13.
