Proposed rules on merger transactions, state bank parity on agenda for FDIC Board

Merger transactions and state bank parity are the subjects of two proposed rules the board of the federal bank deposit insurance agency will take up when it meets Thursday (Sept. 17) in Washington, D.C.

According to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) the meeting will get underway at 10 a.m. ET.

The board released its meeting agenda Tuesday; no other details about the proposed rules were included with the agenda.

Also under consideration at the meeting: Rescission (erasure) of an FDIC Board statement on the development and communication of supervisory recommendations. The rescission is on the so-called “summary agenda” of the board in which no substantive discussion is expected, unless a board member asks that the issue to moved to the discussion agenda and then a vote.
