Agency leaders, top Fed supervisor will discuss new CRA rule at joint conference

Community reinvestment will be the topic when leaders of two of the federal bank regulatory agencies – and the top supervisor of the third – participate in a panel March 4-7, sponsored by the agencies.

Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) Chairman Martin J. Gruenberg, Acting Comptroller of the Currency Michael J. Hsu, and Federal Reserve Vice Chair for Supervision Michael J. Barr will be panelists at the 2024 National Interagency Community Reinvestment Conference. The conference will be held in Portland, Oregon.

According to the agencies, the biennial conference discusses the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and discusses best practices, innovations, and emerging challenges in community development with experts from around the country.

The agencies said the program will focus on their new CRA rule and will include regulator-led sessions on the rule and panels on community development policy and activities. Also, there will be pre-conference tours of local community development organizations and projects, the agencies said.
