Regulator plans webinar on programs for low-income designated credit unions

Programs and initiatives for minority depository institutions, the credit union chartering process and the grant round for low-income credit unions are among the topics to be discussed in an April 24 webinar by the federal regulator of credit unions.

The 60-minute webinar is intended to detail the plans in 2019 of the National Credit Union Administration’s (NCUA) Office of Credit Union Resources and Expansion (CURE). Hosted by office’s director and deputy director — Martha Ninichuk and JeanMarie Komyathy, respectively – the program will also discuss (in addition to the topics noted above) the office’s training programs schedule and upgrades for the agency’s Learning Management Service.

The CURE office, NCUA said in a release, supports low-income-designated credit unions and credit unions interested in a low-income designation; minority credit unions; credit unions seeking changes in their charters, bylaws, or fields of membership; and groups organizing to start new credit unions.
