FDIC terminates 1 bank receivership, plans to end 9 more soon

The federal bank deposit insurance agency on Feb. 1 terminated the receivership of Georgia Trust Bank, Buford, Ga., which was closed July 20, 2012, and has another nine receiverships slated to end in 30 days, according to agency notices.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) said it will accept comments on the pending receiverships before that 30-day period is up, but not after. The receiverships are for the following:

  • The Buckhead Community Bank, Atlanta, Ga., placed in receivership Dec. 4, 2009
  • Marshall Bank, NA, Hallock, Minn., placed in receivership Jan. 29, 2010
  • Butte Community Bank, Chico, Calif., placed in receivership Aug. 20, 2010
  • Pacific State Bank, Stockton, Calif., placed in receivership Aug. 20, 2010
  • First Southern Bank, Batesville, Ark., placed in receivership Dec. 17, 2010
  • Nexity Bank, Birmingham, Ala., placed in receivership April 15, 2011
  • Atlantic Southern Bank, Macon, Ga., placed in receivership May 20, 2011
  • Allendale County Bank, Fairfax, S.C., placed in receivership April 25, 2014
  • Harvest Community Bank, Pennsville, N.J., placed in receivership Jan. 13, 2017

FDIC data show the agency had 272 receiverships in progress as of Dec. 31, 2018.
