People Trust Community Federal Credit Union of North Little Rock, Ark., was closed after about a three-month conservatorship by its federal regulator, becoming the second federally insured credit union closed in 2026.
The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), placed the credit union into conservatorship Jan. 16, citing “unsafe and unsound” practices. The NCUA expanded on that a bit in its announcement of the April 30 closure of the institution, stating that the credit union was insolvent and “in violation of numerous provisions of the Federal Credit Union Act and NCUA Regulations, including operating in an unsafe and unsound manner.”
The NCUA said the institution had 1,830 members and assets of $1,454,253, based on its most recent call report. The credit union served Pulaski and Saline Counties in Arkansas, it said.
People Trust Community FCU is the second credit union closed in 2026, according to the agency’s most recent tally on its website. The other, Copper & Glass Federal Credit Union in Glassport, Pa., was placed in conservatorship Nov. 18 and closed this April 1.
