A call for theoretical and empirical appers on banking issues was issued Monday for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) 25th Annual Bank Research Conference, slated Sept. 24-25 in Arlington, Va.
The agency said topics for papers may include, but need not be limited to, the following:
- Regulatory reform options and considerations
- Risk and resiliency in the financial system
- Real effects of financial turmoil
- Innovations in financial intermediation
- Deposit insurance and stability
- Emerging competitive threats to traditional banking
- AI and technology in finance
- Banks’ role in the 21st Century
There will also be a poster submission open to Ph.D. students in economics, finance, and related fields, the agency said; submissions should include a complete draft of the paper.
The FDIC said paper and poster submissions must be received by April 24; authors will be notified about the status of their papers in July.
