Credit union regulator looking at proposed rule on records preservation

Records preservation under an advanced notice of proposed rulemaking is on the agenda for the April 18 meeting of the federal credit union regulator’s board, the agency said in a meeting notice posted late Thursday.

No other items are listed on the public meeting agenda for the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Board; no executive session items are listed either.

In 2021, the agency included as part of its annual one-third review of all of its rules a look at Part 749, “Records Preservation Program and Appendices – Record Retention Guidelines; Catastrophic Act Preparedness Guidelines.” It offered no additional details, and has proposed no action in this area since then.

The agency board’s meeting is set for 10 a.m. ET next week; it is open to the public.
