Economic activity up some since January, Fed’s latest Beige Book reports

Note: An earlier version of this story focused on the Fed’s January Beige Book report, not the February report released Wednesday.

Noting a slight increase in economic activity since January, the Federal Reserve’s February Beige Book report notes a generally positive outlook for further economic growth.

Specifically, the Fed said, contacts from the Fed’s districts noted expectations for stronger demand and less restrictive financial conditions over the next six to 12 months.

The February Beige Bok report was prepared by the Federal Reserve Bank fo San Francisco based on information collected from outside the Federal Reserve System on or before Feb. 26. The Fed notes the report is not a commentary on the views of Federal Reserve officials.
