Trio of new videos cover cybersecurity, info technology for community banks

Three new videos covering cybersecurity awareness and information technology aimed at both bank board members and bankers have been released by the federal insurer of banks deposits, the agency said Friday.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) said the three updates to its Technical Assistance Video Program covers:

  • Cybersecurity Awareness for Board Members, providing background information on cybersecurity and discussing the board’s role in overseeing their bank’s cybersecurity efforts.
  • Cybersecurity Awareness for Bankers, presenting the role bank officers have in designing and maintaining information security programs in a cyber threat environment.
  • Information Technology, covering information for bank directors and trustees regarding oversight of a bank’s information technology program and FDIC information technology examinations.

All three videos are available on the agency’s technical assistance video program webpage and on the agency’s YouTube channel, the FDIC said.

According to the agency, the video program is a series of educational presentations designed to provide useful information to community bank directors, officers, and employees on areas of supervisory focus and regulatory changes.
