FDIC taps learning guru, director of its corporate university, who comes over from TSA

Dr. Felita Boldin will be the chief learning officer and director of corporate university (CU) for the federal bank deposit insurance agency, starting Sept. 11, the agency said in a release Thursday.

Boldin most recently served as the deputy director of training and development (T&D) in the mission support division with the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) said. The agency added that she supervised four branches that oversee various business management functions required to execute TSA’s training and development (T&D) mission.

She also managed the T&D portfolio of contracts and interagency agreements, which are essential to training operations, the FDIC said, and oversaw the T&D portfolio of property assets.

Prior to her work with TSA, she was an Instructor at Auburn University and an officer training instructor and contracting officer with the United States Air Force.

The new FDIC chief learning officer holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Alabama. She also holds a Master of Arts in procurement and acquisitions and a Doctor of Philosophy in public policy and public administration from Auburn University, according to the agency.

The CU, the agency said, supports the FDIC’s mission and business objectives through continuous learning and development. The agency said CU provides opportunities for employees to enhance their sense of corporate identity while learning more about the FDIC’s major program areas of supervision, compliance, resolutions, and insurance.
