OCC’s Hsu takes over as exam council chair, succeeding NCUA’s Harper

Acting Comptroller of the Currency Michael Hsu has added a new role and title to his duties: chair of the umbrella group for the federal financial institution regulators, the group said Friday.

Hsu was named chair of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) for a two-year term beginning Saturday and ending March 31, 2025. He succeeds National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Board Chairman Todd Harper, whose two-year term ends Friday.

Named vice chair of the exam council, which counts the three federal banking agencies and NCUA as members, was Michael S. Barr, vice chair for supervision of the Federal Reserve Board. He will also serve a two-year term.
