Prohibition order bars former NJ credit union employee

A former employee of Newark Firemen Federal Credit Union, Newark, N.J., has been prohibited from any future involvement in the affairs of a federally insured depository institution under a consent order announced Thursday by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).

The order says the agency found that Ashley N. Davis, without authorization, from February through July 2020 transferred more than $99,000 from various credit union member accounts into her daughter’s account and used the funds to service her own debt and pay for her personal expenses.

Her actions “actions involve personal dishonesty on the part of Respondent and demonstrate her unfitness to serve as an institution-affiliated party of any insured credit union,” the order states.
