References to the most recent mortgage servicing rules are included in an updated small-entity compliance guide published Wednesday by the federal consumer financial protection agency.
According to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the updates in the guide provide an overview of the agency’s mortgage servicing COVID-19 final rule from this year and the 2020 mortgage servicing COVID-19 interim final rule provisions. The bureau said the updated guide also identifies the areas of the underlying mortgage servicing regulations affected by those newer rules.
CFPB said the latest version of the compliance guide also updates the discussion of the servicing file requirements under existing mortgage servicing rules to “provide guidance about compliant use of multiple electronic systems.”
