Supervision, reg inclusion, FDiTech initiatives on agenda for FDIC community banking panel, which has a new member

Inititiatives of the agency’s Office of Innovation (FDiTech) is on the agenda for a July 22 open meeting of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) Advisory Committee on Community Banking, the agency announced Thursday.

The meeting, set to run from 1 – 5 p.m. and viewable via webcast only, will open and close with remarks by FDIC Chairman Jelena McWilliams. Also slated are:

  • discussion of local banking conditions;
  • update from the Minority Depository Institutions Subcommittee;
  • financial inclusion update;
  • FDIC ombudsman update; and
  • supervision update.

The agency on Thursday also announced the addition of one new member to the now 18-member advisory panel: Anthony Capobianco, president and chief executive officer of American Community Bank of Glen Cove, N.Y.
