FDIC consumer compliance exam manual updated

Several sections of the federal bank deposit insurer’s Consumer Compliance Examination Manual (CEM) have been revised, with SOURCE violation code revisions and changes in Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) performance evaluation templates among the changes.

The changes affect chapters II, III and XII of the manual. The SOURCE (System of Uniform Reporting of Compliance and CRA Examinations) violation codes (II-14.1) have been “modernized and streamlined,” according to a notification by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC). The agency also said the “Bank of Anytown” chapter (III-2.1) has been updated to conform to the new codes and to remove the CRA performance evaluation example.

Additionally, the CRA performance evaluation templates (XII-1.1 – XII-8.1) were updated to conform to updated writing procedures, the agency said.
