House panel joins Senate counterpart in scheduling CFPB semiannual review

Senate and House semiannual reviews of the federal consumer financial protection agency are now set for next week, Oct. 16 in the House and Oct. 17 in the Senate.

The House Financial Services Committee Wednesday said it will hold its hearing next week, featuring Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Director Kathleen “Kathy” Kraninger. Also Wednesday, the bureau released its “Semi-Annual Report Spring 2019.”

The day following the House hearing (Oct. 17), Kraninger will give her report before the Senate Banking Committee (which had been previously announced).

The bureau’s semi-annual reports to both houses of Congress are mandated by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank) of 2010.
