Powell plans February town hall with educators from across the country

A town hall with the chairman of the Federal Reserve Board and educators from across the country is set for Feb. 6, the central bank announced Monday, and will feature a question-and-answer session between the chairman and educators.

The Federal Reserve said Chairman Jerome H. (“Jay”) Powell will host the 7 p.m. event in the board room of the Fed at its main building in Washington; educators will join Powell in the board room and via webcast from Federal Reserve bank offices across the country. Powell will respond to questions from both the in-person audience and participants via the webcast, the Fed said.

Attendance at the conference is by invitation only, according to the Fed; conference attendees and media representatives must register in advance.

Following the event, the Fed plans to post both a transcript and video recording of the event on its website.
