Banks in Gulf Coast path of Tropical Storm Gordon allowed to close

Banks and federal savings associations affected by Tropical Storm Gordon in the Gulf Coast area were allowed Wednesday to close. Under the proclamation issued by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), federal branches and agencies of foreign banks affected by severe weather conditions were also allowed to close. The agency said it expected that only those bank offices directly affected by potentially unsafe conditions will close – but that those offices should “make every effort to reopen as quickly as possible to address the banking needs of their customers.”
