Consumer bureau schedules event on ‘credit visibility’

Exploring challenges many consumers face in accessing credit, including strategies and innovations for them to pursue in overcoming barriers and expand their credit access, is the aim of a one-day session planned by the federal consumer financial protection agency next month.

The Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection (BCFP, formerly known as the CFPB) will sponsor the “Building a Bridge to Credit Visibility” symposium Sept. 17 at its headquarters building in Washington, D.C. (Basement Auditorium, 1700 G St. NW).

The agency said that although the nearly seven-hour event (running from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.) will be livestreamed via the Internet, it is also open to the public to attend (space is limited, the agency said). An RSVP is required for in-person attendance.
