April workshops take on compliance, operational risks for national bank/federal savings bank directors

Compliance and operational risks are the topics of two workshops for national bank and federal savings associations directors set for next month in Indianapolis, the federal regulator of the institutions said Wednesday.

According to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) the April 17 workshop on compliance risk will focus on elements of an effective risk management program, focusing on the Bank Secrecy Act, Flood Disaster Protection Act, Fair Lending, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Community Reinvestment Act, and other compliance.

The April 18 session on operational risk looks at governance, third-party risk, vendor management, internal fraud, and cybersecurity in focusing on “the key components of operational risk—people, processes, and systems,” OCC said.

Both sessions are scheduled for the Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Airport; cost is $99. Attendance is limited to 35 (the first to register).
