A former relationship banker at Regions Bank, Birmingham, Ala., is barred from any future service in federally insured financial institutions under a March consent order finding that she withdrew $323,500 from a bank customer’s account for her own benefit.
The order from the Federal Reserve Board says the former employee, Brenda Fuson, withdrew the funds in a series of transactions from April 2022 through July 2024. Additionally, it said she misappropriated $4,000 from her cash box (and that she has partially repaid that amount).
In a separate consent order, also in March, the Fed barred Lidia Estrada, a former engineer at Ally Bank, Sandy, Utah, over fraudulently obtaining $31,000 in compensation while purportedly on military active duty.
The order says Estrada, beginning in October 2023, had asked that the bank place her on a year-long military leave of absence and submitted fabricated military orders and pay stubs in connection with this request. Estrada “did not serve on active duty in the military during this time, but was instead working full-time for other private employers,” the order says.
