More time made available to comment on stress test model, transparency, accountability

Need more time to comment on the stress test model and scenario transparency and accountability improvement proposal by the Federal Reserve? You’ve got it: until Feb. 21, a whole additional month.

The Fed announced the comment extension Friday. It said it did so to allow interested parties more time to analyze the issues and prepare their comments. The original comments due date was Jan. 22. The proposal was issued Oct. 24.

When comments were requested, the Fed said it was looking for those on the stress test models; changes to the framework that guides the design of the hypothetical scenarios; and the hypothetical scenarios for the upcoming 2026 stress test.

However, the Fed added, comments on the proposal regarding the 2026 stress test scenarios are still due Dec. 1.
