Former banker to be prohibited for stealing $440,000 from San Francisco customers

A former associate banker will be prohibited from further service at a financial institution for stealing about $440,000 from customers of a JPMorgan Chase Bank branch in San Francisco, the national bank regulator said Thursday.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) said it had initiated prohibition proceedings against Sixto Christopher Porras who, the agency alleged, made the unauthorized withdrawals from bank customer accounts.

According to the consent order signed with Porras, the multiple withdrawals were made between Aug. 7 to Sept. 26, 2023. The agency noted that Porras’ actions caused a financial loss to the bank.
