A former employee of a Kansas credit union and one from a credit union in Pennsylvania are barred from participating in the affairs of any federally insured depository institution, the federal credit union regulator said Monday.
The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) said it issued a letter notice of prohibition June 2 to Christian Wright, a former employee of Mid American Credit Union of Wichita, Kan., citing Wright’s conviction and sentencing “on or about March 17” for reportedly stealing more than $100,000.
In a consent order, the agency said Kevin Spratt, formerly a senior branch sales representative at Police & Fire Federal Credit Union, Philadelphia, Pa., was fired by the credit union after it found Spratt embezzled funds from member accounts, “including the use of fictitious loans in member names.” It said the credit union incurred “significant” losses and that Spratt was later prosecuted, pleading guilty Oct. 15, 2024, to one count each of bank fraud and aggravated identity theft.
