Credit union regulator charters 2nd new credit union of the year, serving African American community in St. Louis

A new credit union in St. Louis, Mo., has been chartered to serve the members of the African Diaspora Council Inc., a group based in that city which promotes community self-help and financial and wealth-management education among African Americans, the federal regulator said Monday.

The African Diaspora Federal Credit Union (FCU), the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) said, will primarily serve members of the council, headquartered in St. Louis. The charter was approved May 15.

It is the second credit union chartered by the agency in 2025, the agency said.

NCUA said the new credit union will open its doors later this year. It will offer members basic savings and lending services, NCUA said, including savings accounts, checking (share draft) accounts, auto loans and personal loans.
