Three former credit union workers were prohibited in April from further work in federally insured financial institutions, the federal regulator announced Wednesday.
The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) said the three individuals were:
- Anh-Thu Nguyen, a former worker of Goldenwest Federal Credit Union (FCU) in Ogden, Utah;
- Amber Grabill, a former employee of Merho FCU in Johnstown, Pa.;
- Dorothy Ellis, a former worker of St. John’s Buffalo FCU in Buffalo, N.Y.
Nguyen and Grabill were prohibited after signing consent orders with the agency; Ellis received a notice of prohibition.
NCUA alleged that Nguyen without authorization, performed numerous unauthorized transactions for her personal benefit on Goldenwest FCU member accounts, among other things. The agency claimed that Grabill withdrew funds from two member accounts without their approval, then deposited the stolen funds into her personal account.
The agency noted that Elllis was convicted of forgery last fall in New York state court, where she received a sentence of five years’ probation. The agency said that, because of the conviction, Ellis was subject to the prohibition.
