Comments due: CFPB (ANPR; Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, or HMDA)
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has extended the public comment period on its advance notice of proposed rulemaking (ANPR) regarding Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data points and coverage. The bureau seeks comments relating to whether to make changes to the data points that were added in October 2015 to the bureau’s HMDA rule (Regulation C) or revised to require additional information. Comments are also sought relating to the requirement that institutions report certain business- or commercial-purpose transactions under Regulation C.
The ANPR originally carried a comments-due date of July 8, 2019. To allow interested persons more time to consider and submit their responses, the bureau said it has determined that an extension of the comment period until October 15, 2019, is appropriate.
